"Sorry, Brain. It says no traveling on days with the letter 'Y' in them."

We watch a lot of Arthur around here. I grew up watching that show and LOVED it. I didn't realize how much I loved it until I met the man who claims Arthur is his favorite TV show. Oh! My heart melted and I knew I was in love!

Well, in the Arthur episode, "Best of the Nest," Prunella explains my current sentiments exactly:

""Sorry, Brain. It says no traveling on days with the letter 'Y' in them."

We got home from traveling 2700 miles in only 12 days this Sunday. Yick. It was definitely worth it, however, but that's another blog post. (I started it on the computer, continued it on my phone, and between the two, I didn't save it. :( )

Needless to say, I'm done traveling for a while!

Our Sequel is a Sequelette

Yup! We are having another girl! Starlet already has a name picked out, which is outstanding for an almost-two-year old, I think. Cool Apa and I are pretty much sold on it, I think.

Not gonna lie, I was hoping for a boy, so I was a little disappointed, but after realizing that we have all the clothes we need AND hearing everyone say, "Oh! Sisters! They'll be the best of friends!" I'm excited for another girl.

What do you think? Red head or no?

I Achieved the Impossible

My sister, Aunt Astute, is getting married to her high-school-wrote-him-on-his-mission-very-first-and-only-boyfriend sweetheart in the next couple of weeks! Hurray! (Can't believe my little sister is getting MARRIED!!) I was  very excited when she got engaged because that meant wedding prep! I've offered to help many times, mostly expecting my mother to cash in on my free time, but my sister asked me to something pretty big:

MAKE the cake topper!

Whoa!! I felt extremely honored, a little nervous, and eager to accept the challenge! Little did I know, my mother completely doubted my abilities (even though she's the biggest support and cheerleader I have for my artistic skills) and bought the requested cake topper as a back up, JUST IN CASE! HA! My own mother! Oh well. I'm pretty sure Heaven helped me from visualizing the design to purchasing materials to the actual sculpting of the figures. Here's how it went:

Not too shabby, eh? My mom apologized for doubting me. Apparently, I achieved the impossible.

*WHEW!*

Written about a week ago.

After a two month tornado, we have landed! My thoughts after all this craziness:

Think Wild E. Coyote being flattened by an oncoming train. Let's see, where did this blog leave off?

Moving day! Holy buckets that seems like forever ago! In reality, it was not even a month ago. Wow. A lot has happened in that month.

Cool Apa started his job at Micron!!

I think he likes it so far: hard to judge a job by just a few weeks' worth of working, especially when those few weeks are all just training and shadowing and meetings. I think he'll love it, in time. I just can't believe that he gets a SALARY!

We found a little home! We jumped on it during our home finding trip and so far, haven't regretted it. The only bummer is that Micron is so far away. It takes Cool Apa a while to get to and from Micron. BUT:

  • our neighborhood is quiet, clean, and feels safe
  • we are in an EXCELLENT and VERY loving ward
  • we're a stone's throw from farmland
  • the Walmart is only 20 minutes away
  • we are in a HOUSE!!
  • we have a nice kitchen
  • we have a DISH WASHER
  • we have a washer and dryer!!
  • we have a GARAGE!!
Since we're just renting, I have no idea where we'll be in a year or two. I don't want to even THINK about moving again. Living with boxes all over your living room isn't my idea of cozy furnishings. I'm also going through the loss process with regards to our home, friends, family, and life in Utah. I want to know what the future holds so I know how much to emotionally invest in this ward, area, and the people around me. I know we're supposed to just live each day to the fullest, but I'm not ready. Getting to know people, getting to know the area.and feeling like this is home will take time.

Anyway. I'll post some pictures of our adventures! I got a MotoX and LOVE taking pictures with my fancy new phone!

Moving Day

6:40 AM-The CO detector wakes us up. We looked up the instruction manual and sure enough it was a CO alert. Woke up Starlet, got outside, called the manager, and waited for the owner.

7:30 AM - We have a new detector!

Breakfast and showers.

9:00 AM - Movers arrive. They are crazy fast! It's weird but nice to have strangers load your stuff for you.

11:00 AM - Suitcases packed and loaded in the car. We are ready to leave! Too bad we have to stay here until they're done.

11:15 AM - Cool Apa's friend comes to ex change goods and say goodbye. We'll miss him.

12:30 PM - Cool Mamma and Starlet run errands and get Wendy's.

12:45 PM - Starlet falls asleep watching a movie in the car. This NEVER happens. Poor tired little one.

2:00 PM - Movers still loading boxes, car all packed, Starlet and Cool Mamma sitting in AC car watching "mini!" (Minions- Despicable Me 2) and wondering what to do.

2:45 PM - Starlet and Cool Mamma go to friend's house to pick up a sippy cup and play with Starlet's friend, Twinner (born on there save exact day). Really nice to chat and see them again before they move.

3:30 PM - Cool Apa calls saying that the movers are done and that he needs a ride to lead the movers to the piano at Grandma's.

4:30 PM - The movers are done! Papers are signed! We are officially living out of suitcases.

5:00 PM - Go back to the apartment and do a super fast Clorox wipe down and trash sweep.

6:00 PM - Done! Left the keys on the kitchen counter. Officially homeless. Cool Apa packs the roof of the car.

6:30 PM - We head to Cool Mamma's cousin's for dinner.

7:00 PM - Arrive in South Provo for  dinner and chat.

9:00 PM - Decide to head to Pocatello despite how tired we are and despite our cousin's offer to stay the night.

9:30 PM - Make it only 10 minutes down the freeway and turn around. Cool Apa said that the only way the three hours to Pocatello could be longer is if he was waiting for combat. Ha! Time to quit for the day.

10:00 PM - Come back to cousin's and get what we need for the night.

10:30 PM - Starlet asks to go to bed.

Chat with cousin's.

11:15 PM - SLEEP!

Holy Buckets of Blessings

Hello. I'm sitting in the Boise airport,  taking a break to myself, and waiting for the plane to get here while Cool Apa takes Starlet all over the place to get her wiggles out. Ha! My pregnant pelvis won't let me walk a ton without being sore later so I'm so glad Cool Apa and I are both here so he can be the baby-tainer.

Those of you who heard about the interview trip might be thinking, "Boise? Why are you in Boise again??." (My sleep deprived and missing-its-bed body are wondering that too.....) Well, we are back in Boise again for a house hunting trip. Again, you might be thinking,  "Didn't you just do that in Utah? You moved into a new place end of July, right?" and you would be correct! So yes we did it all again in Boise the past few days. And..... WE WERE SUCCESSFUL!! we found a place about 20 miles from Micron: a little far, but it met all the  other criteria.

I can't believe that in 3 days we found, looked at, AND put the deposit on a little home!! And that was after researching mostly online not in person! I think I'm in denial just to numb myself to all the stress and emotions that come with change.
Let me rephrase that:

LIFE CHANGES ARE EMOTIONAL AND STRESSFUL THINGS!!!

Man.  It's wonderful, amazing, scary, humbling, and nerve-wracking all at the same time!

It's also miraculous. The pieces have just fallen into place. Heavenly Father has just taken such good care of us. I felt months ago that He was weaving everything for our good, setting up all the pieces in such a way that as soon as He said "go" they would all fall into place. And they did! They just did. We got a job that Cool Apa is interested in, it's close to my family which I need, it comes with great benefits and salary, and it'll pay the rent on the house we found in only THREE DAYS!  Wow. We are so blessed! I don't feel deserving of all the blessings but I am just in awe at the mercy and graciousness of my Father. I need to thank Him.

I'll keep a prayer of gratitude in my heart as we fly, drive, and then SLEEP!

ANSWERS!!!

Last post was all about-

Questions in Limbo!!

Today's post is about-

Answers!! In less...limbo....

Let's do a question and answer session, "Shall we?"

High fives to anyone who can tell me where my "Shall we?" quote comes from!!
http://img4.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20101107003026/pixar/images/2/25/MikeWazowski3.jpg
Here are some of the questions from my last post, now answered!!

  • [We found a new apartment in Orem] But how long will we live there?

  • Mmmm, at most a month. We can move in tomorrow and will probably move out before our 30 days are over!

  • If we don't get a job and our $$ reserves run out, where will go?

  • I don't think that will be a problem, unless something falls through because

  •       COOL APA GOT A JOB!!!!

He'll be working as an engineer at Micron in Boise, Idaho!!

Which means a salary and a place to go, so I don't think we're going to have to worry about camping in our parent's basement.

  • How long until can we last on our reserves?

  • Again, not applicable! We don't have to! Now we'll be saving and making reserves!

  • Will Cool Apa's internship keep being extended, giving us some cash flow?

  • No. He ends before August 18th which is when he starts at Micron

  • When will his internship know if they can hire him?

  • Last week. They can't match Micron's offer.

  • What state am I going to be in next year?!

  • IDAHO!! Oh my gosh!! My home state! I can't believe it!! I'm going to be 3 hours away from my parents, 2 hours away from grandparents, and in the same area as my dear great aunt, old family friends, and a couple high school buddies! Yay, Idaho!!!

  • Where will our Sequel be born? Idaho? Utah? Arizona? Maine? CHINA!
  • Idaho. *Beams with pride.*
  • Will Cool Apa have a job?
  • OH YES! Holy buckets does he have a job! Not only is he interested in the job, but it comes with a handsome price tag! We are so very blessed! I think God expects a lot of us.....
  • If so, what will the benefits be like?
  • AWESOME.
  • Will we need/be able to receive government help if we don't have the cash?
  • I don't think we'll qualify for government help anymore....

  • The other questions are about our Sequel and I really don't know the answer to most of them and today, I'm ok with that! Having a HUGE question answered makes me feel SO MUCH BETTER!! Oh! I feel happier, strengthened, and very very blessed.
